Discipline Without Punishment
If your organization is searching for tips for handling employee issues ranging from unacceptable performance to problem behaviors such as excessive absenteeism or you just want to learn new ideas, join us to learn about Discipline Without Punishment (DWP). The Employers Council is sharing new ideas to help managers and HR professionals implement a positive, proven method for getting “problem” employees back on track. The presentation is based on the concepts and ideas contained in Dick Grote’s book “Discipline Without Punishment. "More than 30 years ago, Dick Grote developed a powerful, non-punitive discipline system that turned a troubled Frito-Lay plant from a hotbed of employee sabotage and toxic relationsinto a productive, respectful environment. One where employees took personal responsibility for their behavior, and managers helped “problem” employees become productive players. Grote’s method spread to other companies, and gained national recognition with release of Discipline Without Punishment. The book has become a management classic, helping thousands of companies and managers move to a responsibility-based approach for handling unacceptable performance in the workplace
