Carpooling Infographic

CDC has developed an infographic with suggestions for how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 when carpooling to and from work. This would also be relevant for work situations that may require ride-sharing. It's also available in Marshallese, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, and Vietnamese.  

How and What to Communicate to Employees About COVID-19

CDC has published the COVID-19 Communication Plan for Select Non-healthcare Critical Infrastructure Employers. This document suggests how and what to communicate to employees, including communication channels and messages.

Guidance for Chemical Disinfectants

A new NIOSH webpage, Hazard Communication for Disinfectants Used Against Viruses, provides information on health hazards that could be caused by cleaning products and disinfectants. Also included are recommendations for barriers and respiratory protection that workers can use to protect themselves from these hazards.

Strategies for Protecting K-12 School Staff From COVID-19  

CDC has published Strategies for Protecting K-12 School Staff From COVID-19, focusing on keeping K-12 school staff safe and healthy. This guidance is a supplement to existing CDC considerations and is intended for K-12 school administrators preparing school programs for staff and students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

August 26, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (EDT): Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Mining Workplace

Experts will share information about COVID-19 and lessons learned while operating mine locations during the pandemic. A panel discussion will focus on new processes and procedures mine companies have adopted in response to COVID-19, including how they were implemented, monitored, and sustained to protect the health and safety of miners during essential operations. The webinar is hosted by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration. Registration is required.

The Diabetes Technology Society is hosting this free event to discuss risk reduction by harnessing the potential of digital health, telemedicine, sensors, and pharmacology. The summit will feature frontline clinicians, scientists, engineers, and social scientists to address the question: How can we protect patients with diabetes from COVID-19? NIOSH’s Dr. David Weissman will speak about the protection of healthcare workers on August 27 at 11:20 a.m. (PDT). Registration is required.
