    Director of Human Resources

    The Director of Human Resources is responsible for planning and administration of the Human Resource function within the policies of the hospital and employment law. S/he plans, directs and carries out policies relating to all phases of personnel activity at Mesa View Regional Hospital. The following are some of the duties relating to the position:

    • Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
    • Plans and conducts new employee orientation programs to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
    • Keeps records of insurance coverage, pension plans, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
    • Conducts wage surveys within relevant labor markets to determine competitive wage rates. Prepares the budget for personnel operations.
    • May be responsible for evaluating and suggesting new benefit or compensation structures or changes to existing plans.
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

    In addition, the Director coordinates the needs and interest of the hospital with those of the employees to assure a qualified, productive staff.  The Director is also responsible for the maintaining an equitable salary structure system throughout the hospital and assuring that structure is competitive with the current market.  Accountable for the oversight of all related functions and duties directly tied to the Human Resource component of the organization.  The HR Director will be actively engaged in the strategic efforts related to personnel initiatives designed to help the organization achieve their overall business goals and objectives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Team.

    This position has 1.5 Direct Reports:  The HR Representative (1.0 FTE) and The Employee Health Nurse (0.4 FTE).

    Three (3) years of Human Resource experience is required and healthcare experience is highly preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

    * This position is part of the Senior Leadership Team and therefore residing within 15 miles of Mesquite is a requirement.

    Pay range:  $90,000 to $110,000 (DOE)
