A Message from FHRA President Penny Fletcher

    November 15, 2018

I am very pleased with all that we accomplished during 2018.  That was, in large part, due to the passion and enthusiasm of those who serve on the Board of Directors with me.   We do have four current openings, two of which require membership vote, and two that are appointed by the board.

We have several persons interested, in fact more interest than we have open positions!  I want to thank the members of FHRA who are willing to volunteer as a chapter leader.

Please see below, a brief introduction of the persons interested in serving in our elected positions.  Each of them will introduce themselves at the luncheon Nov 20, and an electronic ballot will be sent out after that time.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 775-8485, or pfletcher@cheyenne.littleamerica.com

I look forward to an amazing 2019!

Membership Chair:  This is a one year position that will work alongside our Membership Director, Jacob Sones, for 2019 and take over as Membership Director without an additional vote for 2020.  This position was newly created to help our initiative to expand our network of HR professionals.

I am currently the Human Resources Manager for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. I have spent the last 21 years working in employment law at both the State and Federal levels and presses a strong commitment to the HR function as I've seen what poor Human Resource support can lead to.  I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology, both from UW. I am passionate about increasing local membership in an effort to extend resources and support throughout the community. Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve.

I’m a Workforce Specialist with The Department of Workforce Services and currently help job seekers land their next opportunity by rebranding their resume and improving on their interviewing skills. I have previously been a Program Coordinator for a program funded by the Department of Labor and a Technical Recruiter for a leading online technology education company. I would love to help FHRA increase community awareness and grow membership by serving as your Membership Co-Chair.

    • Suzie Vanderweide
