    Will coordinate the administration of human resource issues and concerns for the organization.  Researches and prepares legally correct human resource policies to attain organizational goals and objectives.  Directs all hiring procedures including advertisements, interviews, etc. for the Shelter.  Provides assistance and counsel to management on hiring procedures and practices.  Advises management on all aspects of employee relations issues, personnel policies, disciplinary actions, etc.  Oversees design and administration of employee orientation program.  Serves as investigator of organization complaints related to human resources issues when brought to Director’s attention.  Designs and administers pay and performance management system to attract, retain and motivate Shelter staff.  Provides quality customer service in accordance with the Shelter’s mission, goals and management philosophy. Processes semimonthly payroll.

    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or Human Resources Management, and/or minimum of three years’ experience as HR generalist. Knowledge of payroll laws strongly encouraged. Strong background in recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, and performance based management, legal compliance, HRIS and training.  Strong employee relations and experience working with policy design.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Excellent organizational and planning skills.  Competent in a Windows environment.

    Cheyenne Animal Shelter requires a background check, pre-employment and random drug screens.

    DESIRED:  Five years’ experience as a HR generalist. PHR/ SHMR certification.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Generally office setting, but may work in an area with a high noise level. Expected to utilize any PPE required.  Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
