    PROGRAM: 

    ADA

    • Overview of Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. (P&A).

    • Overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

    • Discussion about “reasonable accommodations.”

    • Discussion about ADA requirements in terms of employment.

    • Case examples will be provided where the Plaintiff was either successful or unsuccessful with their lawsuit under the ADA.

    Presenters: Julianne Gern & Lori Regnier with Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. 

    JULIANNE GERN graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in American Studies in 2010. Graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law with a J.D. in 2014.  Law Clerk to the Honorable Kelly H. Rankin, Chief United States Magistrate Judge from 2014-15.  Currently a Staff Attorney at Protection & Advocacy System, Inc.   

    LORI REGNIER has served as an advocate for Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. for 20 years providing advocacy services to individuals in Wyoming with disabilities.  Ms. Regnier’s specialty areas include mental health advocacy, and voting rights.  Ms. Regnier also assists Wyoming’s disability community in gaining, regaining, and maintaining employment through a program with the Social Security Administration.

    PLEASE NOTE:  FHRA is required to pay for "No Shows" or Late Cancellations so please be responsible; late cancellations are considered to be after 12:00 pm the Friday before the event.

    • There will be a 50/50 raffle, with half of the proceeds going toward the SHRM Foundation. Tickets are $1.00/each or six (6) for $5.00.
    • If you have a nametag, please wear it to the meeting!
