So You Want to Start a Training Program? Strategies, Successes & What NOT to do.
Speaker: Terri DeNinno, Chief Learning Officer -State of Idaho, Division of Human Resources
Terri DeNinno has over 20 years of experience in course development, design, and facilitation, and has developed and delivered numerous programs, presentations, workshops, and classes for various groups at all levels in both the private and public Sector. Terri has managed and developed corporate education training programs for companies such as Micron Technology Inc., Wells Fargo, Security Bank of Idaho, and Albertsons Inc. Terri is currently the Chief Learning Officer for the State of Idaho Division of Human Resources, and owner of DeNinno Consulting in Boise, Idaho.
Presentation Overview: Starting a training program of any kind is exciting, difficult, and challenging, but also very rewarding. In our time together, we will discuss the processes for determining need, defining scope, and developing training policies and procedures, as well as how to effectively gain buy in from organization leaders and processes for implementing a new program. We will also discuss strategies for measuring effectiveness and using participant feedback to further develop and expand a program. We will discuss the ADDIE process for Instructional Design and participants will receive templates for customization. Participants will also discuss the importance of, and strategies for, involving leadership teams in the process from start to finish.
Attendees will receive information and tools necessary to use when planning and developing an organization’s training program. They will be able to leverage lessons learned and best practices to increase the success level of future training implementation projects.
**NOTE**
This program has been approved for 1.5 hours of (HR (General)) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR or GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
