    PROGRAM: 

    Health Once Upon a Time...Considerations in the Pre-Employment Relationship

    Speaker: Christine Kuehnast, Employment Law Services Staff Attorney, Mountain States Employment Council

    Christine Kuehnast received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Colorado State University. She received her law degree from the University of Colorado. After law school, Christine clerked for two Colorado District Court judges from Fort Collins. After clerking for the Court, she was an associate attorney for a Fort Collins law firm. In 2007, Christine joined Mountain States Employers Council, which is a not-for-profit employer's association that provides assistance to employers in the areas of human resources, labor and employment law, compensation and benefit data, and related training. Christine regularly counsels employers in the areas of employment law compliance and has advocated on their behalf before a variety of state and federal agencies. Christine has taught classes on many employment law topics, and given briefing sessions regarding new FMLA regulations and the new ADA Amendments Act. Christine works for MSEC's Northern Regional Office and is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming. She also received her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation in 2011.  

     

    In her presentation, Christine will have a discussion of current issues and considerations in conducting background screenings, and pre-employment testing. Christine will discuss all of the topics listed below, and answer participant questions.
     
    • What questions can you ask?
    • What sorts of screens can you run?
    • What laws apply?
    • What are some dos and don'ts in the pre-employment testing?

    **NOTE**

    This program has been approved for 1 (HR (General)) recertification credit hour toward PHR, SPHR or GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
